Garden Box of Ramblings....

Ahhhh June...

Sorry its been long since my last post, but there has been an awful lot going on around the Patch theses days!.

One child is out of school already for the summer, I got tired of his teacher terrorizing him and nothing being done about it at the school level or the school board level. He is 8 and he has developed an anxiety issue because of his teacher, however he has been off for a few days now and already seems to be doing a whole lot better, thank Gaia for small miracles!.

The basement here which is were my parents lived, it was an in-law suite before anyone asks my I stowed my parents in my basement, had to be torn out, apparently the old owner did not get the permits before building and then when they did build down there, they messed it up royally. so needless to say the place is a horrible mess down there.

I stopped planting in the backyard garden, thank goodness that I did not put more flowers in, as it looks like we are looking for another place to live, we can not live here with no functioning basement appartment, and there is not enough rooms upstairs for everyone, so a bigger place it is.

However out Garden Box outfront is looking rather nice and I can take it with me when or if we decide to move. I will pop up a picture of it, we still want to do more to it, add some more little flowers, maybe some little houses for the fairies and make it into a tiny fairy garden. the kids are excited. Also this move would mean that my 8 year old that is being terrorized at his school would NOT ahve to go there next year, especialy since we are lookinga t maybe a place a few streets over and it is in another school district.

well, that is possibly it for now, not much let to write about, maybe tomorrow there will be more.

The Gentle Barn

So I was watching Ellen the other day and she and her wife had a segment about a place called The Gentle Barn.

This place is amazing and I encourage everyone to check it out.. They take abused, neglected and unwanted animals, and rehibilitate them.. but this is not even half of what they do.. Yes it is alot and the Animals are in a better place. BUT!!!!

They also have special needs children come in and help with the animals grooming to help with large motor skills, and feeding the animals helps with fine motor skills and finger extentions.. Being the mother of Special needs children, my heart was happy to be hearing about a place like this..

Howeverrrrrrr...

Special needs children are not the only ones coming out to The Gentle Barn, Children at risk, inner-city kids, kids in group homes, foster children are also coming out to the Barn and finding friends in the animals. They are finding they can relate to these animals because in some cases the anaimals and the children share the same pasts.

My hats are off to The Gentle Barn and I am going to leave some links so that if anyone ever reads my little Blog here they can take a peek..
